Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions players ask most — about moves, walls, scoring, streaks, accounts and the app. For the complete tutorial start with How to Play; for account topics see Help.

Gameplay

Can I move diagonally?

Only as a jump. When the two pawns stand on adjacent squares you may jump over your rival to the square directly behind them; if a wall or the board edge sits right behind them, the jump goes diagonally to a side square instead. Ordinary moves are always one square up, down, left or right.

Why was my wall refused?

The game never lets anyone be blocked off completely: any wall that would leave an opponent with no route to their goal is rejected automatically. In the four-player game this is checked against everyone still at the table. Pick another placement — or move your pawn instead.

Can I jump over two pawns?

In the four-player game, yes — but only when two pawns stand in a line directly ahead of you and there is nothing left to do except go backwards. In Duel and Race only single jumps apply.

How many walls do I get?

10 each in Duel, 10 or 15 each in Race (chosen when the room is created), 7 each with four players. Spent walls never come back, so spend them where they bend the rival's road most.

Scoring, ranks and streaks

How are points awarded?

A public-room win is worth 25 points, or 40 if your opponent outranked you; a loss costs 10, or 20 against a weaker rival. In the four-player game a win is +40 (55 against a stronger table) and a loss −15; walking out costs −25. Rating never falls below zero.

Do friend games and AI practice count?

No. Games with a friend by room code and practice against the AI never affect points or rank — they exist for fun and training. Only public games against real opponents move the ladder.

Why did I get no points for a win?

Three anti-farming rules: games decided in fewer than six moves (sixteen with four players) score nothing; from the fourth straight rematch against the same person points halve, and from the seventh they stop; and past 1500 points a day wins slow down. Change opponent and full scoring returns.

How does the daily streak work?

Play at least one game against a real person every day and the flame grows, changing shape at 7, 30, 50, 100 and 200 days. Miss a day and it breaks — a restore button then appears for a week on the home screen and in your profile.

Multiplayer and connection

How do I play with a friend?

Open Play with friend, create a room and send your friend the short code or the invite link. They enter it on the same screen and sit at your board. Full walkthrough in the multiplayer guide.

What if my opponent vanishes mid-game?

They have 30 seconds to come back and the clocks freeze meanwhile — waiting costs none of your time. If they don't return, the win is yours. Across a game those pauses add up to one minute; the next disconnect after that is simply a loss.

How long is a move and a match?

A single move may take at most 30 seconds. The whole game runs on no limit, 3 minutes or 5 minutes per player (chosen at room creation); the four-player table always uses 5 minutes.

Account, app and data

Do I need an account?

No. Tap Quick match and play immediately with an automatic nickname. Registering only moves your points, rank and streak off this browser so they survive a cleared cache or a new phone — progress made before registering carries over.

How do I install the game?

On Android tap Install when the banner appears, or choose Install in your profile. On iPhone open the game in Safari, tap Share and choose Add to Home Screen. It then opens from an icon like a regular app.

How do I delete my account?

Profile → Delete account, confirmed twice. Deletion is final: nickname, points, rank, streak, friends list and your review go with it. Exactly what is removed is listed in the Privacy Policy.
